How to Use

This app is designed to help you with every step of installing a rain garden.

The Design section will help you pick a site based on the physical constraints at your home. It includes guidance on soil suitability, and sizing.

The Choose Plants section has a plant database where you can select the types of plants that you may want to install in the garden, based on physical conditions.

The Install section provides guidance on the excavation of the soils, use of soil amendments, how to plant, and how to maintain your garden.

The My Rain Gardens section allows you to keep track of the information on the rain gardens you have installed, including a name, size, location, plant list, and installation date. This section also provides a way for you to share that garden with us at CLEAR, so we can put you on the map!

How to Install this App

iPad or iPhone

1. Open this in the “Safari” app.
2. Tap the icon featuring a right-pointing arrow coming out of a box along the top or bottom of the Safari window to open a drop-down menu.
3. Tap “Add to Home Screen.” The Add to Home dialog box will appear, with the icon that will be used for this website on the left side of the dialog box.
4. Enter the name for the shortcut (Rain Garden) using the on-screen keyboard and tap “Add.” Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your iPad or iPhone.

Android

1. Open this in the “Chrome” app.
2. Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper or lower right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.
3. You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut (Rain Garden) and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
